Three seconds
a site-specific movement performance that deals with the world of dreams and its relationship to the daily narrative of the city of Damascus.
Using a minimal combination of movement, light, and sound the performance invites the public on a journey into a sensorial archive of the maker's dreams along the period that stretches between 2017-2018. During the mentioned period, the inhabitants of the city of Damascus used sleeping as a self-defense mechanism to escape harsh political and economic realities. Dreams have become the only private place that one has, and the only liberal manifestation to express fear, anger, and desire.
Mayar and Hoor used the world of dreams as a manner to reflect on their surroundings, crystallizing their own dreams in a shape of performance, and inviting the public to their actual sleeping room to share with them this intimate journey.
